Rev. Dr. Larry Hayward, Pastor

Larry became the sixth Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in October 2004. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, he is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York and a Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. Before coming to Westminster, Larry served churches in Texas and Iowa. Larry is deeply committed to the preaching and teaching ministry of the church, having taught courses surveying the Old and New Testaments to over 300 members and friends of Westminster. He has served as Moderator of the National Capital Presbytery and as the Chair of its Committee on Ministry. Larry currently serves on the Board of Directors of Faith & Politics Institute. Larry is an avid sports fan (especially the Nats!) and likes to read literature and politics. He is married to Reverend Maggie Hayward, a member of National Capital Presbytery. Between them, they have five grown children.
