Choral Evensong
Choral Evensong is sung or said around the world every evening throughout the year. The choir offers its music on behalf of the rest of the community - the music and prayers join together so that our senses, intellects, hearts, and minds work together to give us a glimpse of God's glory. As we allow the music to draw us into its life, we awaken to a new discovery of God’s love. May the prayer and praise we offer become your own as we “worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”
Candlemas
Candlemas, or the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, happens at the midpoint of winter. On this day, we celebrate the gifts of warmth, love, and light in the midst of the cold. Candlelight illumines our sanctuary as we sing to honor the Light of the World, Jesus Christ.
Michaelmas
The Feast of Michaelmas, also known as the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels, is celebrated annually on September 29. On this day, the Church recalls the story from Revelation 12 of Michael slaying the dragon (Lucifer). As it falls near the equinox, the day is associated with the beginning of autumn and the shortening of days. St Michael is one of the principal angelic warriors, protector against the dark of the night and the Archangel who fought against Satan and his evil angels.
