Choir Concert Tour of Germany and the Czech Republic

Thursday, July 14—Sunday, July 24, 2022

This trip is now full.

Join the Westminster choir as they undertake a concert tour of Germany and the Czech Republic. Singers, ringers, strings, family and friends are all welcome to join us-we need a healthy number of non-musicians!

Begin in Berlin with a guided sightseeing tour, during which you will see the Reichstag, The Brandenburg Gate, the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, the Philharmonie and Unter den Linden. Continue on to Dresden and tour the reconstructed buildings destroyed in the Allied bombing raids of World War II, including the Frauenkirche. Take a full day tour of Leipzig, an important musical city: the birthplace of Richard Wagner; where Johann Sebastian Bach was appointed musical director in 1729; Mendelssohn directed the Gewandhaus Orchestra and founded the Conservatory of Music. Continue on to Meissen, world-famous for its porcelain, and visit its Porcelain Manufactory. We'll end the tour in Prague, visiting Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral, the Lesser Town, the Charles Bridge and the Old Town, and attend a professional concert.
